This page is about hate. About everyone I know hates some things. But very few is outspoken. That is a shame. Bringing this out can help if not only to discover that you have brothers in arms. There are quite a lot of things that I truely hate. Often because others seem so ignorant about what it represents. Let me name a few.
I hate the monopoly microsoft is allowed to exploit. I have nothing against microsoft software, I use it everyday without many problems. Microsoft makes some great software, and also has good ideas, but of course also some bad ideas.
But I do hate the way their endless income of windows is used to monopolize other markest like game consoling, telephones and so on. I detest the way they trie to undermine standards and block other companies and open-source projects from becoming compatible with the monopolist software. It happens in office software, in http standards, in html standards, netbios and so on.
I believe the market place will only improve products when more then three big players are there. Microsoft is playing bully and even proud of it. I believe the only solution would be to split up microsoft and make sure the desktop windows and server windows are in seperate companies from the rest of the software.
I hate the politicians who do not seem to be able to address the most important issue today: expenses civilians must pay to taxes and semi-taxes.
In the Netherlands taxes are very high. But even more of a problem is the legal corruption. We are forced to pay all kinds of expenses because the government does a very bad job. Because normal expenses are so high our freedom is taken away to live a layback life if you would choose to do so.
- The prices for rent and buying property are going up and up. Because not enough houses are built (laws and regulation prevent this), and because a ludicrous speculation with land is going on where local government and big building companies are getting rich over the heads of those that need to live. The Dutch government profits when house prices go up. This is exactly why this mad system is still there. The government should protect civilians from speculation. In stead they profit.
- The Dutch government contains a lot of civil cervants that are not needed. A lot of rules and regulations are made that are not needed. The amount of regulations applying to a new house is phenomenal. Half of all civil cervants should be sacked immediately: not because they are bad people or because they do a lowsy job. They are just not needed and they are payed by taxes. The money spent wrongly should go into research, education and hightech economy.
- The Dutch government spents money like it is water. All major pet projects have cost two to five times the amount projected. There are no sanctions at all. Those in charge should be layed off because they do a bad job. No major projects should be continued at all that are more than 1.5 times (or any reasonable amount) over budget.
- Because of privatization of trains prices go up and service goes down
- All kinds of government services are privitized. The amount of money these companies make is enormous. But no-one can stop them: they are legalized monopolies/oligopolies. The managers of these companies are taking millions away from our semi-tax money. Let me be clear, I have no problem with managers form a normal company earning a lot of money. But I do have a problem if that money comes from me, and I have no choice to spend it somewhere else. I am talking about ABP (employee pensions), companies that own houses that are rented to people, the railways, the energy companies.
- The banks of the Netherlands are buying companies in the USA every day. This has become possible because the profits they make are enormous. ABN made 2.5 billion last year. This money has a lot to do with the high prices for houses here: no-one buying a house here for the first time will ever own it unless they are very rich. Every euro a house costs will be payed back to the banks 4 to 10 times. The banks year after year sack hundreds to thousents of people and so cut there costs. At the same time all banks charge you for every computer money transfer you make, they hold your money a few days when you transfer it, the charge for credit cards and so on. These charges go up and up and up.
- Believe it or not, the Dutch government subsidises people that buy a house upto half what they pay per month. If you make a million euros a year, the Dutch government will subsidize your house. This money of course goes directly to the banks. Remember who made the profits? Still think Dutch government is sane?
- Petrol prices are rising and rising. At the same time the EU is spending billions to subsidize farmers to make products we do not need. Why aren't a lot of cars driving on oil from plants?
- They are giving away the energy market to companies: and our expenses go up.

In Dutch: Neem geen abbonement bij planet internet. Planet internet is een zeer slechte provider. Neem een abbonement bij xs4all. Waarom?
- De newsserver, waar je vaak goede tips en dergelijke kan krijgen is slecht bereikbaar, en zeer extreem beperkt.
- De helpdesk is echt niet professioneel. Als je over een smtp-server begint weten ze bijvoorbeeld niet wat je bedoeld.
- Ze blokkeren poort 25 bij het adsl abbonement. Dit staat nergens en je kunt daar dus niet achter komen. Het is bij planet dus onmogelijk je eigen emailserver te draaien.
- Het is bijna onmogelijk om van je abbonement af te komen. Wanneer je dus ontevreden bent zit je een jaar aan ze vast. Wanneer je een seconde te laat bent met opzeggen is er geen pardon: je moet een heel extra jaar doorbetalen.
- Je kunt alleen een jaarabbonement nemen. Ze bieden geen enkele andere vorm van abbo aan. DOE HET NIET! Ik kan begrijpen dat ze willen dat je een jaar lid blijft om de kosten van een abbonement aanmaken etc te verdienen. Maar er is ook niet onderuit te komen na een eerste periode. Als je wilt opzeggen na een jaar of drie kan dat alleen een maal per jaar.

- De Homepage van planet werkt met flash. Hij is dus niet te besurfen met een linux systeem. Dat een provider zijn beginpagina zonder flash onbruikbaar maakt is ongelofelijk
- Zelfs de consumentenbond heeft een speciale aktie om consumenten bij te staan bij providers zoals planet wanneer je een conflict met ze hebt. Zo normaal is dat dus.
Samengevat heb ik hele dikke spijt dat ik ooit bij planet internet terecht ben gekomen.
